Welcome to the Governors' section!

Our Chair of Governors is Mr K Cross and Vice-Chair is Mr P Semaine. You will see lots of Governors around the school as they visit the school on a regular basis to challenge what we are doing and support the school.  Each Governor has a subject area which they are interested in and they come into school to work with the staff and monitor these areas.

I have been Head of Drama and Dance for 10 Years and worked in Primary, Preparatory, Middle Schools and Colleges for 20 years. I adhere to safeguarding policies every day in my job as a teacher, line manager, and mentor and form tutor. My position requires me to complete safe guarding testing on line every year.

I am a trained Middle Leader and am the NASUWT representative for my college and I have Stage 1 training for representation in meetings and legal courts. I have taught Music and English too.

My degrees are in Drama and Music.  I am a qualified Teacher.

I am a new parent governor after being elected in May 2015 and I decided to apply for the role because I am passionate about children of all ages receiving quality education and equal opportunities that reflects their diverse needs and individual strengths.

Prior to taking a career break to raise my two children, one of whom is currently at Fairfield, I worked in the education sector where I undertook a number of business specific qualifications.
I believe I bring an enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with all of the school's stake holders to ensure that we can provide the best environment for all of the children.

We deliver family learning programmes in the school these are free to the school and parents. However, our service reimburses school costs e.g. for staff supply when a member of staff works alongside the programme.

I have long-standing experience of supporting children and families in the education and social care sectors. I have lived in Leicester for 29 years working in schools, preschools and children center’s across Leicester City and County. In my role as a Family Learning Coordinator for Leicestershire County Council I have had a close working relationship with Fairfield for nearly 12 years.  I feel I have got to know the school and many of the families well and would like to offer my support in my role as a governor.

I believe by parents, children and school working together we can get the best out of each other and help our children to reach for and achieve their potential.

My name is Katherine Juniper and I am a Parent Governor.  In this role I hope to support the school in their goals, helping them to deliver the best possible opportunities for the children.  I have two girls at the school and as a parent I feel I can relate to the concerns of parents and hope to represent those concerns.  I am currently on the Health & Safety Committee.

 

Since my children started at the school I have become involved in extracurricular aspects and enjoy helping the school to achieve in any way can.  I am at active member and secretary of the Friends of Fairfield, Fairfield Community Primary School PTA, I enjoy working closely with the school in organising events and fundraising.

BA (Hons) QTS NPQH. Tim has been a teacher since his qualified status in 1996 and has worked in a variety of schools within Leicester City and Leicestershire. He has been the Head Teacher of Glen Hills Primary School since 2006 and became Executive Head of both Glen Hills and Fairfield Community Primary in January 2015. I am a long standing member of the school team, having taught at Fairfield for over 20 years as a teacher. In addition to this, I have played an important part in the strategic development of the school through my leadership of curriculum areas & KS2. I have previously served as an Acting Head teacher at Fairfield on two occasions, including leading the school through its most recent OFSTED Inspection in 2010, as well as serving as a governor on the school’s governing body. I worked as a Teacher before having children and became a Parent Governor at Fairfield in 1985 when my three children were all at the school. After they had left I was invited back as clerk in 1993. I was a Governor at Guthlaxton College for 18 years, until September 2014.
